A Gender Reveal + Maternity Photoshoot That Was Extra Special 💕

There’s something incredibly magical about capturing maternity portraits—the quiet anticipation, the joy, and the love growing right before your eyes. But this session? It was especially close to my heart… because the expecting mama is my daughter!

That’s right—my daughter’s family is growing, and our hearts are overflowing with excitement! When she came to me with the idea of combining her gender reveal with her maternity session, I was all in. And the results? Well, they were nothing short of stunning.

Planning the Perfect Reveal

From the very beginning, we worked together to plan every detail. One of the perks of working with me is that you don’t have to stress about anything—I guide you through it all. My daughter chose a striking all-black look for the gender reveal portion to let the shower of pink petals take center stage. The moment she opened the umbrella and those petals floated down—it was pure magic.

A Second Look That Took Our Breath Away

For her second look, she picked a rich burnt orange dress, which paired beautifully with a neutral tan backdrop. With a little help from her husband (who was a great sport), we had a blast tossing that dramatic train to get those flowing, editorial-style shots.

That Dreamy Studio Light ✨

We held this shoot in one of our favorite natural-light studios. The moment we stepped in, we were struck by how beautifully the space complemented her dress, especially with the wicker chair and warm-toned décor. We saved some time at the end of the session to get creative, and those spontaneous moments turned out to be some of our favorites.

As soon as we saw the tall windows and the cozy mirror tucked into the corner, we couldn’t wait to create something dreamy. The mirror added a whimsical, editorial touch that made the images feel like a page out of a magazine.
